Abstract
The endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal approach to pituitary adenomas is gaining increasing popularity as an alternative to the traditional technique using an operating microscope. Although discussions are still ongoing about the superiority of the endoscopic approach over the microscopic approach in terms of completeness of resection, which is especially important for macroadenomas, endoscopic access offers advantages in assessing nasal function and degree of disability.
