Abstract

Background:Portableelectronicdevicesareessentialtoolsforwork,wheretheglobalizationhasputanimpactofdependabilityonPED’s.Thesedeviceshavebenefitsoneaseofworkbuthavephysiologicalimpactsdependingontheusageofhoursandpostureofneckandwrist.Objectives:PED’shaveagreatimpactontheposture,sotheobjectivewasfindingthecorrelationbetweencarpaltunnelsyndromewithneckdisabilityinrelationwithusageofPED’sinwholeday.SearchMethods:OnlineplatformwasusedwithGoogleformsandcirculated.Selectioncriteria:Thecriteriaforthestudywereinclusionof18to25yearsofagepeoplewithnodisabilityordisorderalreadypresentandunderstandabilityofEnglish.Datacollectionandanalysis:Thedatawascollectedfor200peopleincludingbothmaleandfemalewherethemeanandstandarddeviationwasevaluatedforcorrelationofdifferentaspectsofbothquestionnaireswithusageofPED’s.MainResults:OnevaluationthemeanusageofPED’sperdayis5.82.4hoursday.ThecorrelationamongtheNDI-SSS,NDI-FSS,PED’s-NDI,PED’s-SSS,andPED’s-FSScametobe0.59,0.51,0.06,0.08and0.12respectively.Authors’conclusions:TherelationbetweencarpaltunnelsyndromeandneckdisabilityindexcametobesignificantpositiveinNDIandBCTquestionnaireandinsignificantpositiveincorrelationinusageofthePED’swithCTSandneckdisability
